ABOUT

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."

- C.S Lewis

"Acting is not about being someone different. It's finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there."

- Meryl Streep

If you could use three words to describe yourself, what would they be?

"Actress. Writer. Traveller."

Originally from Sweden, this multilingual actress has been part of a wide range of stage and screen productions. Born in Västerås (which is different from Westeros in everything but name) she grew up in and around Stockholm where she found a passion for the creative arts at the turn of the millennium. It was in high school that her passion for the Classics and the international stage would awaken and she made the move to the UK to pursue a professional acting career before being accepted onto the MA in Acting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. She graduated with merit in October 2014.

Maria has, besides acting, worked as a writer, having had several scripts commissioned for both screen and stage including “Broken Souls”, "Welcome, my name is -" and “Saga”. She also enjoys photography, singing, music, swimming and the great outdoors. She is an accomplished ballroom dancer having taught Argentine Tango while at university and competed at salsa conventions in Scandinavia and Italy. She has training in stage and screen combat with the BASSC and Dramatic Combat Scotland, after having earned her initial certification with distinction in June 2014. She also enjoys archery, perhaps there's a theme.
